Hinckley and Bosworth residents reminded of Keep Safe Places

Hinckley and Bosworth residents reminded of Keep Safe Places

Residents are reminded that 'Keep Safe Places' are available to use across the borough of Hinckley and Bosworth. There are several venues in busy retail areas that offer support and advice to anyone feeling overwhelmed, vulnerable or distressed.

Stickers can be seen at the front of 'Keep Safe Places' which include libraries and shops that have signed up to the scheme. Staff at Keep Safe Places can help by contacting friends, family or the emergency services if needed. For some people, knowing there is a place of security close by can provide the confidence to go out freely. Council offices and libraries provide Keep Safe cards which show the details of who to contact in an emergency, or medical assistance that may be needed.

There are 18 Keep Safe Places in the borough of Hinckley and Bosworth. Nine of them are in Hinckley, two in Barwell, two in Earl Shilton, two in Market Bosworth, one in Desford, one in Markfield and one in Ratby.

Cllr Michael Mullaney, Executive Member for Community Safety, said:"It's important that everyone in Hinckley and Bosworth knows they have places to go when they need some help while out and about. "Getting out into the community can be great for your mental health. But if it becomes too overwhelming, or another problem arises, it's reassuring to know that Keep Safe Places can help you. Look out for window stickers or check online at the link below for the list of Keep Safe Places in our borough."
